A New Era (Again)
Earlier this week, we heard the news that Urban Meyer will no longer be the head coach of the Jaguars. This was a decision that was universally loved amongst the fanbase. Seriously, not one person had an issue with this. With a 2-11 record, this season is absolutely over for the Jaguars. After WEEKS of scrutiny for keeping Meyer as the coach despite all of his shortcomings and the rumors surrounding him, owner Shad Khan has finally made the right decision for the future of this franchise. Now, a new era can finally begin for the Jaguars (for real this time).
Frankly, I’m embarrassed that I even believed in that coward Urban Meyer. He was supposed to be our savior but instead he dug the franchise even deeper into the hole they were attempting to climb out of. He refused to listen to anybody and did everything his way. Granted I know he’s the head coach and has final say on decisions, but a selfish and arrogant attitude will get a team nowhere. Not to mention his awful decision-making that he seemed to blame on the rest of the coaching staff.
At the end of the day, and whether I like it or not, this terrible season happened. Instead of moping around and physically fighting cocky Titans fans, I’m going to chalk it up as a learning experience. A learning experience for everyone involved. Khan has learned not to hire incompetent sociopaths and the fanbase has learned not to trust somebody solely based on his pre-season speeches firing them the hell up. It remains to be seen who will take over and turn this franchise around and that’s something we will revisit another time. As for now, we’ll let Darell Bevell take over as the interim head coach and try to win us some freaking games for the sake of pride.
